We all know how it feels to be loved at some point in our lives. Take the example of how our parents love us unconditionally and would literally give anything to make sure we are happy or never lack. In the same way, God takes delight in the same love. In Jeremiah 9:24, he says, But let him who glories glory in this, that he understands and knows Me, that I am the Lord, exercising lovingkindness, judgment, and righteousness in the earth. For in these I delight.
When we get to understand God through His Word, we get the foundation to trust him and apply the knowledge of that truth(His Word) through loving him. The deeper you get to know him, the deeper is the growth of your love for him cause of who he is. And that deeper love drives a desire to understand him more!
It is through this love we have for him that we encounter him in his presence. The more the love, the more intense his presence. And in his presence, God has a way of revealing himself in that stillness of his presence. This is another dimension of encountering God.
Psalm 62:5 NKJV
My soul, wait silently for God alone, For my expectation is from Him.
In his presence, we are still and silently waiting for what he wants to tell us!
